Hi guys how are we all doing? In this post as you can see from the title I will be sharing with you my 9 Essential blogging tips that you need to read before you start blogging. Now in this blogging world sometimes to write original content can be hard. But believe when I say that there is always people out there that are seeking knowledge so you are good to go. (A Little tip for you).
With a lot of things in my life I am very big on mindset and how your mindset plays a massive part in our daily lives. Your mindset can effect the decisions you make in life and how you live your life. If you want a little head start read on.
Here are my 9 essential blogging tips before you start in 2019
#1 You must first believe that your blog is going to reach the level of success that you want.
It is great that you want to start your blog. You might have been influenced to start your blog by your favourite bloggers or you might just be someone who has something to say and you want to tell the world. All of that is great, but if you don't believe in yourself and your blog, then you are probably are not going to last very long. You will spend a lot of your energy chasing numbers and in turn, you might find yourself chasing trends for your blog as oppose to creating content that you want.
#2 Know that your Blog might not be an overnight success.
Blogging or any other social media platform where you are looking to build a following takes time. In some cases it might seem that some people obtained success quite quickly, but usually you will be looking at the end results. People have spent time and energy building what they have but in an instant, that one post can change your rate of success and take off like you have never seen before. So be aware of what you think you know.
#3 Although this blogging world is massive there is still room for you.
Starting a blog is daunting and scary. Putting aside all the elements that you need in starting a blog, one question that might pop into your head is. 'Is there room for me'? Yes there most certainly is. It is not uncommon for this question to arise. As there are so many bloggers out there doing the same thing, it is a wonder that anyone would get noticed right. Yes Right you are not wrong. But you will get noticed. I will go into more detail in another post.
#4 It is essential that you do not compare yourself to others.
I cannot stress this enough. If you begin to compare yourself to others, believe me when I tell you that all joy of blogging will go out of the window. Stress and frustration will be your newest best friends. There is nothing wrong in comparing in the name of research, inspiration, especially when sometimes our confidence can be knocked, but do not make it a full time occupation.
#5 You do not have to be a brilliant writer or photographer to get started.
Slow down, slow down you don't need to jump on a photography or a writers course to get going. You can if you want to, if you are looking to be a perfectionist from the start but it is not necessary. Like everything else in life, you wil improve and get better over time. If at a later time you want to take a workshop or course, then go for it.
#6 Blogging may not be a hard task but it is not easy either.
There are so many elements in being a blogger. There is finding what you are going to write about; niching down to a specific audience, getting your work seen, do you want to make money from blogging? And ways to do that. Being a blogger is a lovely hobby, but once you start getting a lot more out of your blog than than it being a hobby, then it can become pretty full on.
#7 You don't have to blog everyday.
When you first start blogging there might be a sense of urgency to get as much content out there as soon as you can. There is no need to put that type of pressure on yourself. Your time would be better spent planning your blogs and producing quality content. Once or twice a week is quite sufficient to build up your blog.
#8 There is no right or wrong way on how long your posts should be.
There will be bloggers out there who will disagree, but for me you are writing in the style of you. When your readers get to know you a little more, they will soon let you know what they like or don't like. Or you can do a poll on your blog or any other social media accounts.
#9 Write what you want
Depending on what type of people you have around you, there will always be someone telling you what you should write. They might suggest to write about this cause there is not enough on this subject or you shouldn't write that cause so many people are doing it. Don't listen, go with your gut feeling. You may find the more you write, new ideas, writing styles will eventually flow from you as a natural progression.
